WSC41

Wow, I made it! I made a card last night and then looked at the challenge again and decided that it didn't quite work. I do love the card and am posting it here because I do love it, but the second one is great too. I do not have the nestabilities so tried my best to make the cute outline and think it worked but sure do want those ;-) Anyway, had a great time with this challenge and thanks for checking.

WSC40 and BIC5

I must admit that I had a great time with the Be Inspired Challenge that Beate posted here. It challenged me to think outside of the box and I really love how the card turned out. I have the older style Creative Memories Circle and Oval cutters and love how it turned out with the different sizes and shapes.

Then I was not even going to do this challenge for WSC40, but when I was making this card for my Mother in Law, it just turned out to fit. So it was fun. I also used the same paper that I will be posting later of my OSW cards. I am having so much fun with them but they are not all done yet.

Thanks for the challenge and checking.
Blessings,
Sara

WSC39 and an altered notebook

Well the time has come for me to take the plunge and finally alter this notebook that my sister got me back in November 2003. I have always loved the picture in the center of the front cover but the rest of the cover has always been a bit... Not too sure about it. But now I love it! I didn't do to much to alter it but love how it turned out. I took my inspiration from the WSC that Beate had this weekend. Didn't follow exactly as I moved the placement on both items, the card and the notebook. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration Beate and the challenges, always fun. Thanks for checking!

I am so glad that I finally updated the front of this notebook, maybe I will finally use it for my many thoughts???

This is a close up of the stenciled area that reflects what this notebook will finally be used for.

Here is the fun card that I made with this sketch.

What a great challenge. I was not sure what I would be making with this challenge and then I went to Drama practice yesterday and knew I needed to make a card for the director - she had lost track a little as the whole team was together for the first time. The actors practice their lines and dancers practice at another location. This is a ministry drama called HisACTS - such a great team. I work as the Stage Manager and love seeing everything come together, however... The inspiration came from the Directors Shoes. They caught my eye looking like 'So Saffron' and 'Close to Cocoa' little flowers so I tried, freehand style, to make the design. That is where the center square comes from. I added the flourish to the bottom that looked bare and did some paper piercing followed by a watercolor pencil to look like Faux Stiching. I love how it turned out. The heart in the center does not look so pink in life. Thanks for a great sketch Beate and thanks for checking!

Be Inspired Challenge by Beate...

I love her challenges and this one was especially fun. I think I did it the same day or next but getting to the computer now a days to actually post something seems to take forever. But, that's OK as I had a great time with this one. I used the chalkboard technique that Beate had posted earlier since I do not have a whole bunch of colors the chalk allows me to use more than I have...

I got to use colors on this that I would not normally use and did not use my most elaborate flowers as I did not know how the chalk would work with them. I did experiment with the one under the corner a little using more colors and I think it turned out great. Chalk and paper are SU, as well as the flourishes and the big flower the other two flowers are just some clear stamps that I have had for a little while. Thanks for checking!

Well apparently I missed the new deadline for posting this but I did get it done and still wanted to share, along with other items that I have been working on. I will post those later today. I saw the bouncing brayer technique and thought it would work perfect for what I wanted to do with this card but the ink colors that I had were all too dark. So I ended up using chalk and ink to try to mimic the look of the bouncing brayer. I love how it turned out and am going to share with my friend and maybe make another card or two. My mom purchased the He is Risen set from Gina K Designs and I just love it. So much fun! Hope you enjoy as well. Thanks for checking!

WSC33

I am so excited!!! It is now February and TODAY is the first time that I have stamped all year. Actually since before we left in mid December for Vacation. Just glad to finally get moving again, thanks Beate for such a great challenge! Hopefully I can keep this up as I really put three cards together today. I started off with two from Novembers' Stamp camp that Beate sent me, again thanks, which is what finally got me motivated to stamp again. I guess being away from it this long was a little intimidating to start again, but I did and had a great time. I am glad for this card too, it means that I have my hubby's V-Day card - such a relief!, especially since his birthday is friday and I have my Dad's birthday on Monday, my nephew Connor's birthday is right around the corner - certainly did not want to go back to old habits of trying to find just that perfect card on the shelf... So thanks for a great challenge and like I said hopefully I can keep going ;-)

Back???

We had a great time on Vacation. It was fun to spend time with the family and see Abigail with her Cousins, Grannie and Papa and Great Grandma. I have many pictures to share but have not even had the time to download pictures yet, so will share when I have the time to catch up. I hope that everyone is doing well and will be checking in periodically.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Christmas...

So I have been extremely busy getting ready for Christmas and well have been working on projects, work and cleaning. So I have made a couple different cards this year - which is something I have not done before - thanks to all of you for the inspiration. I did not get pictures of the cards, but will probably make up the couple that I have left and take pictures of those but I did make a couple trees and have pictures to share with you. They are so fun, not complete in the pictures as I was not sure what I would do with the tops at the time. I made a star for the one and am still voting on the second - we will see... Maybe next year at this rate!

Both where I have them displayed - just perfect for me...

Individual close ups!

Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone as I am not sure that I will get to post anything between now and then - You know visiting with family - opening presents, etc...

Missing...

Well I guess that I have been a little lax in posting. I have been working on some Christmas trees and just got most of my cards in the mail last night - so they will go out this morning. But because of all the Christmas doings I have not had time to make anything other than cards and trees, which I will try posting later. I may not start posting again until after Christmas Vacation. We will be visiting my family for several weeks. So with that have a great Christmas and I will be back in the new year. Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Birthday Jim

My StepFathers B-Day is today and this is the card that I sent his way. I had to borrow the fishing set but am certainly glad that I did because I just love how this card turned out... The inside just says 'Happy birthday'

Happy Birthday Jim ;-)

WSC27

Wow this was a fun but challenging one for me. It was simple enough but cannot believe how it challeneged me, probably because I was trying to make a more masculine card, although my husband says it still would not work ;-) Oh well... I still like it and will keep trying that more masculine approach.

I also could not stay with the circle, I tried but an oval seemed to work better with how I choose to layout this card.

Thanks for checking!

Harvest Time

I have been very busy with trying to take picture of my daughter for her 18 month pictures, now that I have a really nice camera I do not want to spend the money going to a photographer. But, I did find some time to make up these pumpkins that I saw on Polished to Perfections web page. Super Easy and very fun. Next I am going to try making the Christmas trees that she gave 7 examples of. They look so fun and will be great as some decorations since we are not having a tree this year. Small ones will be just fine for us...

I really loved the first and second one so much that I couldn't even share with my Mother in law for their 40th anniversary, sorry!!! They are sitting on my candle holder in place of a couple of the candles and look great. The third one I really made specifically for my Mother in law. I thought that it would be perfect for the celebration and it fit in perfectly.

This is a picture of all three of them together in my little pumpkin patch!

WSC25

I had fun making this card. I finally tried embossing again for the first time in many, many years. I almost forget that I used to stamp and emboss images when I was in High School, but I never got rid of my embossing heater, so quite easy to get back into it. I am not to excited about how the embossing turned out and now I really see the reason for the embossing budy, will probably have to get that one when I can place another order ;-)

Front View all tied up--

Inside view-- I made an area to place the note by embossing the lines...

Close up of the wording...

Stamp set by CTMH, some paper from SU, main card paper - Not sure where it came from.

A couple parties...

I have been busy attending a couple parties recently and just had a blast at both of them. The Stampin Up! one was fun, but boy was everyone sure quiet, but I learned a lot. I have been staying away from heat embossing because it has just been a long time since I have done that but now no more excuses, time to get back at it! We made this cute little Happy Holidays card and I got to experiment with the blending pens and the chalk, I like that technique a lot!

The other party was by special invitation at my CTMH demonstrators house and she had us make these cute little small gift boxes, this traingle fold card and then a scrapbook layout. I already added pictures to that one so unfortunately will not be posting that here, agreements made with the hubby ;-) But it turned out great, time to get back into scrapbooking - I am soo far behind!

2, 5, 7, 10 Box...

I finally made one and sent if off to my Mom, it was really easy and cannot believe it took me this long to finally make it ;-)

I actually made it a little while ago, so she has since gotten this wonderful little box. I used SU Paper (river rock, groovy guave and the blue current in color - cannot think of the name) and CTMH stampsets (Flourishes and the heart is from another set, cannot remember right now). It was fun!

WSC24

This was a fun one and I got to use some of my new CTMH stamps from winter wonder. I love it. The snowflakes are just perfect and I have wanted to use this snowflake light blue background for a while but it just never seemed to work before this. So I just love this card, but am not sure about the tree. I tried to make it look like it was snowing and that snow had accumulated on the branches but I just am not sure. I hand drew the tree but just not sure about the snow effect, any suggestions on what I could have done differently???

WSC23

I got this done this last weekend, but ran out of time to post it. I have been busy making my Christmas cards and will post those as soon as I am done, next month sometime;-) This was another fun sketch and I knew exactly who would be getting it, yippie!

WSC22

This was a fun one, just wish that I had completed it yesterday but our DVD player died and we had to get a new one, Veggie Tales is very important you know... So we ended up shopping and not only getting the dvd player but also a 42" plasma TV. We were going to be getting one anyway, but were waiting until the addition was completed (still haven't started construction, just finishing up plans) But why buy a DVD player for a tv when you would just have to buy one again when we got this new TV, so sooner than expected but oh well...

Back to the Card, it was a fun challenge and I am glad that I got the chance to complete it on the weekend. Thanks for another fun one Beate!
