Christmas...

So I have been extremely busy getting ready for Christmas and well have been working on projects, work and cleaning. So I have made a couple different cards this year - which is something I have not done before - thanks to all of you for the inspiration. I did not get pictures of the cards, but will probably make up the couple that I have left and take pictures of those but I did make a couple trees and have pictures to share with you. They are so fun, not complete in the pictures as I was not sure what I would do with the tops at the time. I made a star for the one and am still voting on the second - we will see... Maybe next year at this rate!

Both where I have them displayed - just perfect for me...

Individual close ups!

Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone as I am not sure that I will get to post anything between now and then - You know visiting with family - opening presents, etc...

Missing...

Well I guess that I have been a little lax in posting. I have been working on some Christmas trees and just got most of my cards in the mail last night - so they will go out this morning. But because of all the Christmas doings I have not had time to make anything other than cards and trees, which I will try posting later. I may not start posting again until after Christmas Vacation. We will be visiting my family for several weeks. So with that have a great Christmas and I will be back in the new year. Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Birthday Jim

My StepFathers B-Day is today and this is the card that I sent his way. I had to borrow the fishing set but am certainly glad that I did because I just love how this card turned out... The inside just says 'Happy birthday'

Happy Birthday Jim ;-)

WSC27

Wow this was a fun but challenging one for me. It was simple enough but cannot believe how it challeneged me, probably because I was trying to make a more masculine card, although my husband says it still would not work ;-) Oh well... I still like it and will keep trying that more masculine approach.

I also could not stay with the circle, I tried but an oval seemed to work better with how I choose to layout this card.

Thanks for checking!

Harvest Time

I have been very busy with trying to take picture of my daughter for her 18 month pictures, now that I have a really nice camera I do not want to spend the money going to a photographer. But, I did find some time to make up these pumpkins that I saw on Polished to Perfections web page. Super Easy and very fun. Next I am going to try making the Christmas trees that she gave 7 examples of. They look so fun and will be great as some decorations since we are not having a tree this year. Small ones will be just fine for us...

I really loved the first and second one so much that I couldn't even share with my Mother in law for their 40th anniversary, sorry!!! They are sitting on my candle holder in place of a couple of the candles and look great. The third one I really made specifically for my Mother in law. I thought that it would be perfect for the celebration and it fit in perfectly.

This is a picture of all three of them together in my little pumpkin patch!

WSC25

I had fun making this card. I finally tried embossing again for the first time in many, many years. I almost forget that I used to stamp and emboss images when I was in High School, but I never got rid of my embossing heater, so quite easy to get back into it. I am not to excited about how the embossing turned out and now I really see the reason for the embossing budy, will probably have to get that one when I can place another order ;-)

Front View all tied up--

Inside view-- I made an area to place the note by embossing the lines...

Close up of the wording...

Stamp set by CTMH, some paper from SU, main card paper - Not sure where it came from.

A couple parties...

I have been busy attending a couple parties recently and just had a blast at both of them. The Stampin Up! one was fun, but boy was everyone sure quiet, but I learned a lot. I have been staying away from heat embossing because it has just been a long time since I have done that but now no more excuses, time to get back at it! We made this cute little Happy Holidays card and I got to experiment with the blending pens and the chalk, I like that technique a lot!

The other party was by special invitation at my CTMH demonstrators house and she had us make these cute little small gift boxes, this traingle fold card and then a scrapbook layout. I already added pictures to that one so unfortunately will not be posting that here, agreements made with the hubby ;-) But it turned out great, time to get back into scrapbooking - I am soo far behind!

2, 5, 7, 10 Box...

I finally made one and sent if off to my Mom, it was really easy and cannot believe it took me this long to finally make it ;-)

I actually made it a little while ago, so she has since gotten this wonderful little box. I used SU Paper (river rock, groovy guave and the blue current in color - cannot think of the name) and CTMH stampsets (Flourishes and the heart is from another set, cannot remember right now). It was fun!

WSC24

This was a fun one and I got to use some of my new CTMH stamps from winter wonder. I love it. The snowflakes are just perfect and I have wanted to use this snowflake light blue background for a while but it just never seemed to work before this. So I just love this card, but am not sure about the tree. I tried to make it look like it was snowing and that snow had accumulated on the branches but I just am not sure. I hand drew the tree but just not sure about the snow effect, any suggestions on what I could have done differently???

WSC23

I got this done this last weekend, but ran out of time to post it. I have been busy making my Christmas cards and will post those as soon as I am done, next month sometime;-) This was another fun sketch and I knew exactly who would be getting it, yippie!

WSC22

This was a fun one, just wish that I had completed it yesterday but our DVD player died and we had to get a new one, Veggie Tales is very important you know... So we ended up shopping and not only getting the dvd player but also a 42" plasma TV. We were going to be getting one anyway, but were waiting until the addition was completed (still haven't started construction, just finishing up plans) But why buy a DVD player for a tv when you would just have to buy one again when we got this new TV, so sooner than expected but oh well...

Back to the Card, it was a fun challenge and I am glad that I got the chance to complete it on the weekend. Thanks for another fun one Beate!

WSC21

This Library File Card was fun and challenging. It was great to try and add different layers and I really like how it turned out. The paper is all Stampin Up, the stamps I used were from CTMH flourishes and the little flower stamp from g CLEAR stamps (michaels) and the ribbon is also from Michaels. Very fun. I think next time I need to try some distressing but am a little shy because I do not want to waste something but I think this card would have turned out even better had one of the layers been distressed. Cannot wait to take a class on that, soon it is on the calendar already!

And this winner is....

Random.org gave me a number of 32. So counting down the list gave me...

Elaine said...
congrats on your promo at work! I hope you will still have time to stamp and share your designs!! And go have fun getting candy for yourself too!!

So Elaine, send me your snail mail address and I will get your goodies out to you. There is a link to my email on the sidebar.

Thanks all to commenting. This was so much fun. It is fun to hear why you all like scrapbooking and/or card making. I love it because at the end of the day, week or year I have something to show for it and it is always nice to have something to do on rainy days with friends ;-) Have a great day and know that each of you are inspirations to me! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Ryan

Yesterday was my nephews birthday. When my Mom was here I made a card and sent it off with her to give to him. He was not all that excited about the card but loved the cash inside ;-) He is now 7 years old and I just cannot believe it, amazing how time flies. Love him so much and cannot wait to see him and his brother at christmas;-)

Picture of Candy and Card...

So I finally made it to the store to pick up some stuff for the blog candy and this is what I found. I may include some other stuff as I think that there is more to share than what I have pictured here. Included here are two 'G' clear stamp sets and blocks from Michaels and a small little scrapbooking kit. It has all the stuff to make that little album that is included. I think it is great if you have a small event or one day that you want to scrapbook. Such a neat idea. I hope you enjoy!

The other thing is that I got around to making a card for my coworker who is having a baby. I just love this little 3x3 card, quick and simple and yet I get to say that I finally did a little stamping ;-) So exciting.

Thanks for checking and have a great day!

Wow, would you look at all those hits...

Wow, I cannot believe how many hits there have been in just a few days... It is amazing what a little candy will do to your blog. I was hoping to get to the store yesterday or today but did not so will have to figure out blog candy sometime this week. I will definately have it figured out and posted before I draw out the winner. Thanks for checking and have a great week!!!

WSC20 and blog candy...

Well I actually got a sketch challenge done on the weekend that it was for, yeah!!! This was a little challenging until I figured out which stamps and paper I was going to use. The sketch itself was great, I really enjoyed it and how the card turned out! I mostly used CTMH paper and stamps with a new ribbon clip that I just got from Melissa Frances. I love how it turned out...

Now I just noticed that I am almost at 1000 hits, cannot believe it. I knew if I made it that far that I would want to celebrate and so here I am offering my first blog candy. I need to figure out what I would like to give away and may need to make a stop at the store tomorrow to get some great stuff, so will post the picture either tomorrow or Tuesday. I have been promoted at work so this week will be a little hectic (working 50 hours, ouch!). I will draw a winner on Sunday Sept 30th, using a random number generator. To help me celebrate please leave a comment on this post letting me know what you like best about scrapbooking or card making. Thanks and Good luck!

WSC19

Wow, I finally got to do some stamping!!! I was glad to finally get a chance to make something. We went to my Dad's this past weekend and that cut down on my crafting time, tremendously! But I got back to it tonight and am glad. So here is my card for this weekends sketch challenge that Beate at Fresh and Fun put together. I am also sending this card to Victoria, yeah someone to send it to as well. I am glad.

Catching Up and WSC18

Wow, I cannot believe how long it has been since I have posted anything. I have been very busy and not crafting busy.

It seems like life has taken a hold of us and I am trying to make it to the surface of the water and take a breath before it takes off again. I keep telling my coworkers that I feel like a cat in water! You know the saying a fish out of water, well I just didn't think that it described it well enough. You know how cats LOVE water and how they would do anything to get back out of the water, clawing it or anything that gets in their way, well that is how I have been feeling but have been declawed so cannot even get a grab of anything that may swim by, that is my life these past couple of weeks.

On a good note we celebrated our 3rd aniversary and watched our little grow pass 16 months old. She is growing just so fast and is such a blessing.

Well anyway, back to the reason that I started this post, I finally got to do some crafting and made a card for this weekends sketch challenge that Beate has posted. It was really easy - I thought so anyway - and I had fun putting it together. Thanks for checking!

My Mom's cards for the 10 for 1

Here are my Mom's cards, for some reason I could not add them to the previous post so here they are. Didn't she make some great cards for her first time trying?

10 for 1 challenge

Wow!!! I did not think that we would get through this one. Korin asked if anyone would try the 10 for 1 templates and I thought it would be fun to introduce my mom to making cards while she was here for a visit. I thought it would give us something to do while my DD is napping. Boy it took a little longer than I anticipated but it sure was fun. We each made 10 different cards each. They do not match exactly but they turned out great for the paper we each chose. The challenge was to use four different pieces of paper, follow the template and make ten cards. We did it!!! and here are our cards, my mom started with christmas paper but made several different types of cards and I needed to make several thank you cards but ended up with some great aniversary or valentines day cards as well. So much fun!

These are my cards and the next post will have my moms cards ;-)

WSC#16

Well I did it... My mom is here visiting us and so just have not had all that much time but got to show my mom how easy it is to make a card using this challenge, thanks Beate! I was having trouble coming up with a design to make a congrats welcome Baby type card for my coworker. But this challenge really helped me along. She is not finding out what she is having, at least at this time, and so just wanted a simple neutral card. I could not come up with the box in the center but kinda faked it with the corner pieces, hope it still counts!

My first Christmas Card

Well, I got my Make a wish Stamp set from Gina K Designs and since I won a lot of Christmas paper from Ammie that I would make my first Christmas Card and I think it is OK, but maybe missing something. I may try a little more later, but my husband just got home and I need to get moving on the dinner idea.
