Requesting info/help...

OK - So I really want to start adding some glitter but am not sure how to go about doing that. Do I purchase a glue pad and some glitter and add glitter that way, do I emboss - which I already own an embossing heater - so could do that. But I want really easy and want to know others do. Also if you know of any tutorials that would be great. Thanks!

Hello, I just saw your blog through DCM. I use glitter a LOT but I'm not sure I have any tutorials on my blog.

You are welcome to contact me for any other info as there's too much to write here!

Hi Sara - Not quite sure whether you want to use stamps for glitter or just add glitter here and there.

I like to use glitter glue. There's one called Stickles which comes in a small bottle with a fine applicator. Loads of different colours. You can draw lines with it or add blobbs to add accents.

I also have some fine loose glitter which you can apply over any stick surface, eg double sided tape, shaking off the excess as you would with embossing powders.

If you have a heat gun, then you can get some embossing powders which sparkle, so you stamp, emboss with the powder then heat it up.

Hope this helps.

I make the most appalling mess whenever I use loose glitter - so whenever possible I use glitter card, papers that are already glittered in the design, or Stickles glitter glue. I still make a mess, but somehow it's a more "controlled" mess!

On the other hand, I really like using a bit of loose glitter when I do triple embossing on chipboard.
Usually I ink the chipboard to get the background colour I want, add the first layer of UTEE, ink again with a versamark pad and sprinkle a little glitter on that, heat, add another layer of versamark and UTEE to finish

Stickles Glue is wonderful! I also love the glitter by Art Institute and of course SU's Dazzling Diamonds glitter is great as well. It all depends on how you want to put the glitter on as to which product you should choose. Ida
